Live Dangerously. Special Agent Style.

The winners of our annual Live Dangerously Contest, affiliates Mandeep and Nir – along with their lovely significant others Bhavika and Adi – just got back from an incredible Shark Dive Grand Prize trip to the Bahamas. Joined by Affiliate Manager Brent Jordan, this action packed one week journey included an amazing stay at the luxurious One & Only Ocean Club resort (as featured in the blockbuster James Bond film Casino Royale), and an incredible real-live shark dive that brought our courageous party of travelers face-to-face with the world’s most fearsome ocean predator.

DAY ONE: ARRIVAL IN PARADISE.

While suffering some jet lag, the group stayed up into the wee hours of the night scaring each other with a million and one different ways they might get eaten alive by sharks.

DAY TWO: DAY OF THE SHARK

D-day. Or, in other words, Day of The Shark. (Cue Jaws music…)

Everyone arrived at the dock at 7 a.m. sharp, wide-eyed and ready to kick some serious shark tooth. First off, the diving crew briefed the travelers on the ins and outs of shark dive protocol. A trusted inside source reports that at this point, a noticeable nervous energy was looming in the air. To their credit, the RevenueWire party wasn’t afraid to ask a lot of questions. 101 of them to be exact. The staff was very generous with their time and answered all of their concerns with a smile. It was clear the dive crew staff were very passionate about sharks, and knew a lot more than the average person about exactly what cut of human flesh sharks like best…

After question and answer period was over, everyone got in the boat and headed out to legendary Tiger Beach. The ride took about 2 hours, and then an additional 30 minutes to drop anchor in just the right spot. When the dive crew found the real estate they were looking for, they started throwing bait into the water with great abandon. Come and get it!

Within the first hour of dropping anchor, some small Tiger sharks, reef sharks and lemon sharks showed up for a snack. After a few more hours had passed, FIVE sharks showed up all at the same time. JACKPOT. The biggest of the five was a 10 foot lemon shark. Woah. Seriously. That’s a whole lot of real live shark. Better keep your fingers inside the cage…

So what did our brave travelers do next? Everyone took turns in the cage, while the dive instructors swam to the bottom of the cage taking pictures and recording video. These divers truly had nerves of steel. They were calm and collected under what would seem like intense pressure to any rookie shark diver. Truly amazing.

For the RW crew, seeing sharks that close up was a surreal and exhilarating experience, and definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Mandeep was able to conquer his fear of water, and was fully submerged for more than 30 minutes at a time by the end of the day. Brent forever squashed his longtime fear of sharks, and Nir showed his guts by swimming outside the cage while the sharks weren’t around, completely surrounded by fresh bait! Now that’s the true definition of living dangerously.

DAY THREE TO DAY FIVE: MAXIMUM CHILLING.

After the shark dive, it was time for R&R. As they pulled up to the same area that James Bond rolled up into in Casino Royale, the RW party was welcomed in style by a group of friendly hotel staff members. Once inside, everyone knew this hotel was on a whole different level of hospitality.

The next few days at the Ocean Club were “pure bliss.” In Nir’s words, “it was like walking in heaven.” The level of service and luxury was beyond amazing – including 24 hour butler service, champagne room service, panoramic ocean views, incredible food, a stunning white sand beach with clear aquamarine water, and so much more. All in all it was the experience of a lifetime.

This year, however, RevenueWire was fortunate enough to have that chance – and we definitely did our best to make the most of it!

Power To Be Adventure Therapy is an organization with tremendous purpose and sense of social responsibility. They also have a ton of fun on the road to accomplishing their goals. From the very beginning of our partnership with Power To Be – led by Kim Krenzler (our Director of Human Resources) – staff members at RevenueWire committed to equaling the energy, drive and spirit of generosity that Power To Be represents.

This year’s end game was raising money for Power To Be through a harrowing outdoor challenge called Power To Play. That’s right. We didn’t just raise money. A team of several courageous staff members got their gear on and braved a wickedly challenging obstacle course in the name of the blue and green (Burkhard, Sarah, Ryan and Craig – you know who you are!).

To kick of our fundraising efforts we organized an awesome Power To Rock fundraising concert, in partnership with The Strathcona Hotel, to raise money for the cause. A big shout out goes to the bands Bad Monkey and The New Colors for their live performances and rousing rock n’ roll charisma, as well as host MC and DJ Jeremy Baker from The Zone 91.3fm, and contributing sponsors FoeJam and DL Sound & Lighting for making this event such an incredible success.

Through Power To Rock and a staff BBQ (big shout out to Marlon, Matt, Darrin and Jovan for the mean hot dogs), RevenueWire raised over $5,500. That number turned out to be good enough for third place overall for most money raised. Another big shout out goes to the top fundraiser out of 28 corporate teams, Paretologic, which rang up a total of $10,000 toward Power To Be. Impressive to say the least!

The RevenueWarriors team trained hard and placed a hard-fought 13th overall in the final Power To Play outdoor challenge.  As General Manager Bobbi Leach said, “Despite the relentless rain, the team powered through the mud, ran at least 10km, lifted tractor tires, pulled a van 100 yards, had paint dumped on them and got “very close” to each other”.

A contingent of loyal coworkers turned out on a dismal and bitterly chilly Sunday morning to cheer the team on through the sludge while gently heckling the competition.

This year’s Power To Play raised over $100,000. All in all, you could say it was an amazing accomplishment for everyone involved.

0011 and I forced him to pull over to the side of the road. He jumped out of the vehicle and tried to run so I shot him in the left leg. He stumbled. We pounced on him, wrestling him to the ground. After a skirmish we were finally able to put him in proper restraints.

Agent 0011 called in the collar. Within ten minutes Mum had a white Agency van pick us up and take us to the Department Of Homeland Security in Memphis for processing.

While Volocheck was still in his Homeland Security cell, 0011 and I went out and grabbed some authentic Southern ‘chow’. We also took in some LIVE Blues before heading back to the Consulate and escorting Volochek to the airport to board a plane for Belgrade.

Volochek didn’t say a single word the entire time in our custody. I think he knew it was the beginning of the end for him and his criminal behavior. Now he would have to stand trial in Europe where a crowd of angry protestors and incessant media attention would only signal the start of his undoing.

Mission accomplished. Slice of cake, wouldn’t you say?
